Under the title ‘Playing with Flowers’, the exhibition is divided into two parts: the first part ‘Blue Rose’ and the second part ‘Blue Butterfly’.
Blue Rose’ is part of the gallery’s name and the language of flowers has changed from “impossible” to “dreams come true”.
The Blue Butterfly means ‘good luck’ and is said to symbolise happiness.
We informed the five artists of the theme of this year’s exhibition and asked them to express their own roses and butterflies.
Shinji Ando brings healing to those who look at his works with his outstanding descriptive ability, beautiful colours and composition.
Masako Ozaki invites us into her lyrical world with her lustrous forms and well-honed sensibility.
Yukie Mori incorporates invisible ‘something’ into her elegant paintings, such as the smell of flowers and grass, the sound of butterflies’ wings, and the wind softly blowing against our cheeks.
Marina Tomoyose feels ‘life’ in the lines created by embroidery, and forms a world that fuses cells, bodies and the five senses with plants.
The dazzling beauty of invisible ‘life’… Emi Fujita expresses the moment from stillness to movement and from movement to stillness with her transparent sensitivity.
Enjoy the paradise of flowers and butterflies expressed by these five artists, which brings ‘healing’ to those who see them.
